Dandelion stamps - always a popular choice.

Dandelion Wishes - a great go to stamp set for all occasions

Images of dandelion heads are always popular with card makers, mixed media and scrapbookers. The new stamp set called Dandelion Wishes in the Stampin' Up! catalogue is no exception. It features 2 larger flower head designs, a smaller seed pod design and three sentiments. I do like the floral script too - although you could match it with many sentiments indeed. Here is the set:

It was a perfect match for my weekly coffee and card sessions, as with 2 large images, it was an easy stamp set to share.  Add some sponging and some brayered backgrounds and it was a winning card design, even though it was so simple. Here are 2 of my initial designs:

I took all of my inkpads with me to coffee and card, so there was plenty of choice for the background layers. In the photo above I used Berry Burst and Petal Pink for the left card, and Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green for the Well Wishes card. If you have not seen our new full colour range, you can visit the relevant page in our catalogue HERE

Sadly recently, I have had to make too many sympathy cards, but this stamp set is a great match for a sympathy or thinking of you card as well as a bright cheery birthday, thank you or wedding card as you can see below.

Coffee and card design with Dandelion Wishes, Stampin Up!

Here are some more samples made at our coffee and card session in Brackley. I must have forgotten my phone on Monday as I have no images from our session in Towcester, although the cards were stunning.

We made the cards as follows:
  • Cut notecard layers 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" from Whisper White card
  • Using a sponge brayer or sponges, gradually apply the ink to the base card, using 3 or 3 colours of your choice.
  • Using Memento Black Ink or Staz-On Black ink, stamp your dandelion image and sentiment of your choice onto the card. We also used the new stamp set Friendly Expressions in our sessions.
  • Mount the base layer onto a notecard with SNAIL or adhesive of your choice.
  • Add embellishments of your choice: sequins, pearls or rhinestones.
  • Stamp your envelope to match.
I hope you like our selection of cards, I am sure to be using this set for quick and easy cards in the future.
