Great stamp set for coffee and card

It is no secret that one of my favourite stamp sets and bundles in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue is the Petal Palette suite.  Featuring a bird, branches, flowers and 8 great sentiments, it is suitable for mens as well as floral designs, birthdays, anniversaries and thank you cards.

It's a great stamp set to use for our weekly coffee and card sessions, as there are so many sentiments to choose from. The flowers are really easy to colour in too.

For our session we stamped the floral image around the edge of a square piece of whisper white, then added a chosen sentiment in the centre of the base card. We used our Blends pens to colour in the images. Full step-by-step instructions are at the bottom of this post.

For the cards above in the photograph, we used the stamps from the Lots of Happy card kit.

Instructions

• Cut a layer of Whisper White card (thick or thin) which measures 9.5cm x 9.5cm
• Cut a layer of coloured card which measures 9.9cm x 19.8cm to create a card base
• Score this coloured card along the centre line at 9.9cm along the long edge
• Stamp the flowers of your choice from the stamp set around the edge of the whisper white layer, using Memento Ink if using Blends for colouring in.
• Add your sentiment of choice in the centre, or in a gap between your stamped flowers
• Using Stampin' Up! Blends, Write Markers or other colouring method of choice, colour in the flowers and leaves.
• Layer the Whisper White panel onto the colour panel, checking you have the base card the correct way round, attach with your adhesive of choice.
