One of the cards we have to make all too often is a Sympathy card, which many of us find really hard, especially if the person you are sending the card to are close friends or family.
My brother's wife recently lost her lovely Mum Thelma to cancer, and so I made the following cards to send to her on behalf of some of the family.
Very often, when I make sympathy cards, I tend to stick with muted colours, but as Thelma was such a bright and cheery person, I decided to use brighter colours for the cards this time. The first card was made using one of my recent favourite stamp sets So Very Grateful; and I used an Aquapainter to colour in the design, stamped with Staz-On Black Ink. You can just see the matching envelope in the background.
For the second card I used the stunning Stippled Blossoms stamp set. You can get great images with these stamps, by using the lighter colour ink with the background stamp and a darker ink for the detailed stamp.
If you have bought this set from me in the past and are not getting the results you hoped for, please contact me and I will try and help you.
I stamped the outside envelope and the inside layer to link everything together. The 'So Sorry' sentiment comes from the stamp set with the same name.
Such a sad time, but happy thoughts of Thelma will always remain with me.
