Last week saw another class at Stony Stratford and a Private card class for a friend in Brackley. When I was planning the samples I was struggling for ideas, I looked at Pinterest - always a good source of Stampin' Up! ideas - you can find me HERE and follow my boards. I also did a Google search for Stampin' Up! Christmas Images. Nothing sprung to mind, nothing caught my eye.
So when I started to get my Christmas Designs ready, it was with some trepidation. However, everything just came together. Sometimes it just happens like that.
Mind you when I was testing the tree design, it did take 4 goes before I got the layout/design/colours working, but I was pleased with the end result.
Here are the projects:
I planned the Love and Joy card first. I wanted to use our Frosted Embellishments, and the Love and Joy was a new stamp which I got for free at a Stampin' Up! training session and which I had not used. I stamped in Versamark, added Silver Embossing Powder and then heated the embossing power until it had melted. I then layered the card onto Bermuda Bay with a Coastal Cabana layer behind which I had previously stamped with the snowflake from Snowflake Soiree. A strip of designer paper in the same colours, with the Frosted Embellishments just finished the card.
The tree card is a 5x5" card, using a stamp from 'Lovely as a Tree', always a favourite at
Christmas. I had the idea I wanted to create a glittered tree, so
started by just doing one image and glittering it up with our gold
glitter. Then I had the idea to make a glitter tree as part of a wood.
The ladies at class had a choice of gold or silver glitter - it was a 50/50 split.
The calendar front, and the card base were stamped using the Happy Day stamp set - another set I was given for free and had not used.
I hope you like my projects. I am off to convention in Manchester this week - so watch out for more exciting news.
