A little break.... in France

Hi to you all.

I had a short break last week with my brother and his wife in the South of France. They have a lovely secluded property there, and I was able to take a few days out for complete rest and relaxation.
Here is the pool that I spent most of my time relaxing next to.

It was a great time to relax and catch up on some much needed book reading. I managed to get through 4 complete books within my few days there, with plenty of dipping in the pool to cool off from the hot sun.

Their gardens are a lovely mix of formal and informal gardens, and include an olive grove and a small vineyard of overhanging vines.

To the left are some of the grapes which are currently growing in the sunshine.  Who knows what sort of crop it is thing year, as they were not quite ready while I was there.

Where they live, just outside Grasse; they are up nearly at the top of a hill and so they have lovely views across to the town from their house.

Whilst we were there it was the 'Jasmine Festival' and one evening when we were sat outside enjoying our meal; we could hear the start of some fireworks - these were to mark the start of the festival.

As you can see from the photograph of the town to the left, we had a fantastic view of the fireworks which took place right in the centre of the town. They lasted more than 20 minutes and were stunning - though they would have been set to music - which was just too far for us to hear!

One of the evenings we went to a lovely restaurant - and I have some stunning photos of the interior there - paintings which look so real you could imagine being part of the scene.

I will share those with you in the next BLOG post - so don't forget to come back and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by today.
