Fun with cute meercats at Coffee and Card

Meercat stamp set you can earn for FREE

We had great fun this week, with this meercat stamp set at coffee and card. It was a great opportunity for some different layouts, with just the one stamp set. What do you think?

This was our starter card, just stamping the group of meercats and the cactus, and colouring in with our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. 

One of the options was to use some masking techniques, and stamp the group of meercats multiple times, to create a crowd of them gathered together.  If you want to see how this was done, you can see a video of the cards on my You Tube channel. Did you know that the collective name for meercats is a 'mob'?  At least this looks like a friendly mob with all their smiling faces.

I brought my Stamparatus to the session, enabling our ladies to make these fun 'in the round' cards, featuring just the meercats, or the meercats and the cactus. I think these would be great for a children's birthday card - I will pop some of these away for my younger nephews for their birthdays later this year. Here are the colours of the Blends that I used for these cards, but you could substitute any grey/brown/green colours you may have.

I run 3 sessions of coffee and card per week - the photo below shows the ladies on Monday of this week at 185 Watling Street, Towcester. We meet there between 9:30-10:30 every week. I also run 2 session in my home town of Brackley, Northamptonshire, at Hummingbirds Bistro, Market Courtyard in the centre of town.

Gluten free, fat free, caffeine free, dairy free cards

Following on from our recent Bird Banter fun cards, I decided to use this fabulous stamp set called Birthday Wit for our coffee and card, card making session this week.

I used the FREE Sale-a-Bration "Bubble Over" 12x12 papers for the backing, to make some great mens themed cards to start with. This great pack of 12 papers can be yours for free with any purchase over £45 before 31st march 2018.

Aren't these sentiments great fun - I especially love the gluten free, caffeine free, dairy free, fat free set of words! Mind you, I also love the cheeky one that says "Nothing says Happy Birthday like a piece of paper folded in half".

How did we make them?

For the coffee and card session I took some ready cut background papers - the Tutti Frutti ones and the Bubbles ones, and took the matching ink pads with me for ease of stamping.  All our papers list the matching colours on the pack, so I knew I would have sufficient inks for everyone to choose from.  

• We layered the background paper onto notecards. I cut the papers to 3" x 4 1/2" to fit the notecards with a little border around them.
• We then stamped the main list image onto 3 different pieces of card, in 3 different ink colours
• We chose 1 card to be the main focus, then simply cut out selected sentiments in the other 3 colours and layered them on top using our mini dimensionals.
• Once this was done, the finished image was added to the front of the card with dimensionals
• Extra accessories were added as required - mostly enamel dots and stars.   You can see these in the centre Happy Birthday image below (stars).

 

At the end of the coffee and card session we decided to take a 'selfie' using the fun selfie graphic board from the restaurant (#185WatlingStreet).

Finally, in true football style, we named Gill the 'man of the match' as we all agreed we loved her birthday card design. (Gill is a very keen football supporter!)

Team congratulations and welcome gifts

Each month I send congratulations cards and gifts to some of my team members, including the three who have the highest sales and highest number of recruits. Here are this month's top 3 card designs:

 

I have also had 6 brand new team members since January, and each of them receives a welcome pack.

It's All Hot Air !

I hope you like my title today. It is so hard to come up with interesting, eye catching titles, but I thought this was rather fun for my February class name too. Below I share with you 2 of the 3 projects we will be making.

I had the first of my February classes last week, with a further 3 classes to follow, both in Brackley and in Milton Keynes.

More #coffeeandcard samples

I love that my #coffeeandcard events are going from strength to strength, it's a great atmosphere and a chance for everyone to meet others, craft and enjoy the company of like-minded people!

Last week we used the FREE stamp set Avant Garden, and I was amazed at all the different variations we came up with. I chose a limited colour palette - that of the Designer Series Paper 'Blooms and Wishes', so everyone worked within that, using either Whisper White or Crumb Cake as the card base.

Time to catch up

Delicate details - lace stamps for all occasions

The stamp set I chose this week for Coffee and Card is Delicate Details - a great lace design stamp set which is perfect for all occasion cards, and backgrounds too. It features 5 individual stamps which can be used alone or in groups.
