Butterfly Wishes - an easy favourite

Butterfly Wishes from the new 2019-20 Stampin' Up! Catalogue

was the perfect choice for my coffee and card sessions last week. It is one of those stamp sets that produces great results, regardless of what you do with it. All of the work has been done for you, with the shading built into the stamp itself - one of our ©Distinktive stamp designs from Stampin' Up!

I thought that the set lent itself to bookmarks too, so everyone was given the choice of 2 cards, 2 bookmarks or once of each! In the photo above, I used one of our new In Colours Pretty Peacock, matched with Early Espresso. I used our notecard and envelopes for the card, with a background layer of Pretty Peacock, and the bookmark was stamped with Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock on the top.  What you can't see in the photos is the fact that some of  the bookmarks are stamped on the reverse, making a great finished project.

Coffee and Card Locations

I must be one of the luckiest people around! Twice a week I get to spend time with some lovely people at my coffee and card sessions - and not only that, the two venues I work with are such a delight, with the perfect atmosphere, superb, personal service and great coffee!

I thought it was time I gave both venues a shout out!

Monday mornings in Towcester

So, our Monday morning sessions are held at 185 Watling Street, Towcester. It is easy to find, right on the main road through Towcester (Watling Street) with free parking available nearby. Tori is our breakfast manager and looks after us - usually knowing exactly what drinks we want to order as we come through the door. How is that for service! Our numbers here vary from 8 people up to 16 people per session. During the school holidays we are often joined by some lovely young local teenagers, as you can see below.

We meet every week throughout the year, including most Bank Holiday Mondays.  I advertise our planned projects on the local Towcester Facebook Groups - so you can always check there and see what we are doing. These are:

Our card designs for the two sessions each week are usually based on the same design.
Our design this week (14/08/2018) was inspired by Stampin' Star Creations, using stamps from Oh So Eclectic to create poppies.

 

Wednesday mornings in Brackley

Our second location is Hummingbirds Bistro, Market House Courtyard  in Brackley.  A great setting, with our lovely hosts Nicky and Tracey who look after us; re-organising tables and chairs to accommodate us all. If you have never tried Iced Latte, then this is the place to give it a go, not to mention the famous Hummingbird Cake (available fresh on Thursdays).

We have mostly locals for this event, as it is in walking distance of the majority of Brackley, and our numbers vary between 10 and 16 each week. This session has to have the widest range of ages for our attendees - from 3 years through to 92 years of age! We also have visitors from the Banbury area join us on a regular basis. Here is a photo of this week's session. You can see Nicky serving us, with Tracy heading out of the door!

Coffee and card - sweet flowers, birds and rabbit!

I bought the Garden Girl stamp set recently, as it was perfect for coffee and card sessions, with lots of images to colour in. It includes the fence, bird, butterfly as well as the little row of flowers.

Here were my samples for this week at #coffeeandcard:

 The cards you see below were made by Jackie - she did a great job.

  

And these below were made by Baz - using Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. I added the Oh So Eclectic stamp set inot the mix so there was a choice of cards for everyone. Oh So Eclectic is still on offer this week at £14.70 instead of £21.00. You can check all the offers online here.

Fun with Christmas Sweaters - do you own a Christmas themed jumper?

This new stamp set is just such fun, and if you love a little colouring in, 

twice as much fun can be had.

It'a called Christmas Sweaters, and features 6 different jumpers 

and a matching sentiment: "Deck the halls with Christmas Sweaters".

Daisy Delight - what's not to love?

With the imminent release of the new catalogue, and some birthdays to celebrate this week, I had to dip into a new stamp set and get it inky!

That set is Daisy Delight - a really fun stamp set with this amazing daisy as the main image. There is even a daisy punch to go with it! AND you can buy these 2 products together at a 10% discount (just £27.75 for the stamp set + the punch).  Not only that, but there are papers too!

Here is my finished card:

I just had to use some of the papers as they are fantastic designs. I created the middles of the flowers with a 1/2" circle punched from crushed curry cardstock, which I had run through the Gently Falling embossing folder.

 Here's a close up of the daisies. So quick and easy to put together. I love that Stampin' Up! have added new punches to the catalogue this year.
