A Worm of Robins !

I am reliably informed that the collective noun for more than one robin is a 'worm of robins' - doesn't sound too exciting for me though. I think I prefer a 'round of robins' or a 'breast of robins' as offered up by some other bird enthusiasts.

Anyway, I decided to use out Bird Builder punch today at Coffee and Card, to create some robins which were used to decorate a wreath on a handmade Christmas Card.

Here were some of the results from the Towcester session.
The wreath was made using the branches from the same punch, and the flowers or berries were added using some Real Red card punched out with either the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Punches set or our small 1/4" circle punch.

These cards would also work in other colours to make a great birthday or new home card. The Hardwood stamp was used to create that fantastic wood background.

I am running a similar session this Wednesday in Brackley, Northamptonshire, UK if you would like to join us.

Christmas Snow !

OK, I know it is still only just into Autumn, but crafters have to prepare early for Christmas!  This week I have the first of my Christmas Classes - a private class on Friday evening, and a class in Milton Keynes on Saturday morning.

The theme is Christmas Snow and I really enjoyed putting these samples together for the class. This is what we will be making.

The main stamp set is 'Wonderland' which features these lovely three trees. Mainly aimed for Christmas of course, but you could use these trees for many backgrounds too.  The card with the wreath on the right hand side is made using the little pine cone branch which is one of the stamps in the same set, and thanks to Hayley Gille for her inspiration behind this card.

I used the new SQUARE Pillow Box die for the cute box - so easy to make using either card or patterned paper - watch out for some more designs coming your way using this die.  Of course, all the above come with lashings of glitter!

I do have spaces at the moment at my Milton Keynes class on Saturday, so email me if you are local enough and would like to join us.

Acorn Fun !

As promised, I am posting photos from this weeks Coffee and Card sessions, both in Towcester and in Brackley in Northamptonshire, UK.

The Acorn design went down well and I loved the designs everyone came up with.  The backing paper we used was from the Designer Series Paper called 'Into the Woods' which you can find on page 43 of our latest Autmn/Winter catalogue.

We used some of the cute Acorn Embellishments with these cards - there are 3 styles of wooden embellishments in the Pack - leaves, acorns and a little banner. Even better is that this pack is on offer until 29th September, at 25% discount from the normal price of £6.00

To order any of the items we used, follow the links via the images below. You can order from me anytime online via www.jeminicrafts.co.uk or just EMAIL me.

Come back later in the week and see what great designs everyone came up with.

It's a Hoot !

I decided to use an old friend at coffee and card this week - the Owl Builder Punch

Although there are SO MANY lovely things in the new catalogue, I also like to make sure some of the 'oldies' are not forgotten about.

This cute owl punch is no exception and can be used to make all sorts of cute
(and not so cute) characters.

For a Monday morning, I kept it simple! Here was my outline design.....

and here are some of the finished cards.

We used the Hardwood stamp to create the tree truck, and an oval punch to create the knot which made the owl's home. Using a sponge and brown ink we added some depth too. The sentiments were punched using the Word Window punch, with the Washi Tape punch-out behind. The little branches were made using scraps of card punched out with the Bird Builder Punch.

Hope you like our examples, we are doing this in Brackley on
Wednesday 16th September if you can join us.

Lighthearted Leaves - Pinkies Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Autumn/Winter Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!
If you have arrived here from Sylvia's blog then welcome.

My projects today are based on a new Stamp Set called Lighthearted Leaves.

I was immediately drawn to this set, I think it's because  I love Autumnal colours, which fits this set so perfectly.  The current trend for colouring also works well, as the small little sections are perfect for colouring in with pencils or our marker pens. I can see a cute set of 6 stamped cards wrapped in ribbon with some colouring pencils making a perfect handmade gift for Christmas.

I used our new Archival ink pads for the stamping, which can be used for watercolouring as it does not bleed. It is available in Black or Grey.

Here is my first finished sample, making bookmarks and a matching card - you could leave them uncoloured for the recipient to finish.

For my second sample, I used our inks and a sponge to create  a coloured background, onto which I stamped some of the leaf images. These were then cut out with the matching Framelits (called Leaflets). I created a ribbon slider tag, by using our new three way punch, matched with our Tag punch.

Finally, my daughter spotted that the little leaf design looked rather like Christmas baubles, so she helped me design this fun Christmas card.  I used our new twin ribbon pack in the matching colours to finish off.

Which is your favourite? I'd love to hear your comments

Room with a View - Septembers Card Classes

I had to pinch this expression/quotation for this months card classes,
as it was so appropriate!

We will be using the fun 'Hearth and Home' Thinlets from Stampin' Up! to create a range of window scenes! You can be looking in... or looking out!

I created three scenes to get started... but then I couldn't stop!
Here are the first 3 scenes.

At the class you can make up to three cards with different scenes, and if you prefer to omit Christmas, then that's absolutely fine too! I have classes in Towcester (Wednesday 9th), Milton Keynes (Thursday 10th) and Brackley (Tuesday 29th).

If you can't make the class, but would like to book a private class with friends, just contact me for more details.
