Three Trees

Although there were 5 of us at class on Saturday morning in Milton Keynes, I only managed to photograph three sets of cards.

This is a fun set of cards featuring the tree from the Sprinkles of Life Stamp set - the trunk, leaves and the bird you can see in the photograph were all punched out with the matching Tree Builder Punch. 

The flowers along the bottom of the card and envelopes are easily created with the flower stamps, and the Washi Tape was used to create the bottom border.  I love the way it looks like a line of grass or flowers.  Christina's card in the centre with the 2 birds on would make a cute anniversary, engagement or wedding card.

I am repeating this class in Brackley on Tuesday 30th June, so if you are local to me and would like to join us, I have spaces in the afternoon. My evening class is FULL.

It's warm enough for ice-cream

It has been a glorious day here in Northamptonshire - lovely sunshine, a little cloud cover here and there and it is nice and warm.

Very appropriate then that we made these cards at our class this morning. I just need to perfect making a 'Flake' to add to our cones!

With hints of strawberries, chocolate and pistachio, these fun layers which are punched out make the perfect quick and easy 'Ice cream' cards.

Busy, Busy Busy

Busy just about sums up my week this week!

I have enjoyed 2 Coffee and card sessions and a card class already, with 3 more card classes and another 2 Coffee and card sessions in the next 6 days. I have lots to share with you, but I will just leave a sample of our forthcoming classes with you this time.

It's using the lovely 'Sprinkles of Life' stamp set again, on request by some of my lovely customers who saw my earlier Coffee and card samples and asked if I would run a class based on the set.

So here they are - everyone will have a choice of 3 out of the 4 designs.

Towcester Card Class - this week

After a hectic weekend, which started with my Catalogue Launch event on Friday, it was lovely to spend some relaxing time crafting with friends at Towcester's Coffee and Card session this morning. This takes place every Monday morning at the Dolphin Cafe in Watling Street, and is the perfect start to the week. This afternoon I have finished preparing for our full Card Class which takes place on Wedneday evening.

The Sprinkles of Life stamp set and matching punch I have used today was not on my original wish-list, but like so many other people, when you see a stamp set in use you suddenly NEED to have it yourself.

There are lots of images and sentiments in this set, making it great value at £19.00 and an added benefit is that this stamp set is sold to help raise funds to support the Ronald McDonald House charities.  £2 from every set sold goes to the UK charity to help families of children receiving medical treatment far from home. 

To make your crafting even quicker - there is a matching punch for 6 different elements.

Here are some samples made with the set, I can't decide which is my favourite.

You might just notice that the outline of the tree leaves/ice-cream also doubles as a cloud. In this case I have punched out the cloud shape and very lightly sponged around in Soft Sky ink. I added Crystal Effects to the apples to make them look nice and shiny and good enough to eat.

It's not a card..... at Coffee and Card !

Just for a change, we are NOT making a card this week at Coffee and Card in Brackley. I thought we could have fun making some bookmarks and using a fun stamp set called Layered Letters Alphabet which makes these stunning designs.

I hope to have lots of designs to show you tomorrow, but here are 2 to get you started. There is space for 9 letters in the way I have cut and designed these bookmarks. 

Hope you like them. I just had to enjoy the sun for 5 minutes, 

hence the photograph taken on our back lawn.
I used our new THICK Whisper White cardstock - perfect for bookmarks and card bases.

Family Birthdays

June is a busy time in our family, as we celebrate birthdays for two of my three brothers. It would also have been our Father's birthday and our Uncles birthday on the same day in June and I miss them so much - especially on their birthday.

I make the birthday cards for some of my family, so often I will need to create 3 cards for the same person, but sent from different people.  In these cases I often revert to some of my favourite stamp sets but choose new sets each catalogue to avoid duplication!

Here are 3 cards sent to my eldest brother Pete - 

they all arrived safe and sound, and on time!

Table Extension !

Last week at our Wednesday Coffee and card session in Brackley, we had to extend our usual craft table to fit everyone in. What a lovely morning we had. It's thanks to our independent coffee shops that I am able to run my popular sessions every week, and they are so accomodating too.   Our Brackley group meet each Wednesday morning, and our Towcester group meets each Monday morning - such a great start to the week.

Over to the right is a photo of our extended table last week. I had 8 ladies attend, and we all managed to sit round the 2 tables, right in the centre of the coffee shop!

I was excited that my good friend Sara Jones was able to join us from Redditch - I don't meet up with Sara nearly enough, so it was a great opportunity to see her and catch up.




Here is Sara showing the 2 cards she made at the session - one with an ice cream cone and the other with birds sitting in a tree.

There is no need to book your space - just turn up on the day. If it's busy you might need to enjoy your coffee first, and then take your place at the craft table. We're a friendly bunch - do join us one day if you are local, or visiting either Brackley or Towcester!

Coffee and Card in Towcester

I am excited to announce that I have extended my Coffee and Card events to include a new location - The Dolphin Cafe in Watling Street, Towcester, Northamptonshire.

 We have a lovely space set aside for us at the rear of the building, with a view of the garden, and some fabulous natural light from the ceiling windows.  Coffee and Card is an informal session, which includes a cup of coffee (or tea!) and card making in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. the cost is £5 per person.

Butterfly Festival and a Meet Up !

Hello!

I went to a new Meet-Up*craft group last week, and the theme was "Butterfly Cards".  

I love our Butterfly Basics stamp set and could not resist taking that with me for inspiration. I teamed it with some extra butterflies from the popular Papillon Potpourri, which have a matching punch to help punch them out. Our host was the lovely Monika who did a great job in setting up the meeting in a fantastic location in a beautiful Cotswold village.
