Well a Happy New year to you. I sincerely hope that 2014 brings you all good health, joy and happiness throughout the year.
It is one of my nephew's birthdays today on New Years Day, and so I am sharing one of his cards with you. This is a GREAT masculine design card to make and can be used with any image - or indeed just a message as you can see in the photo below.
Although there are 2 cards shown above, only one of these was sent to Alex ! Do you like the look of that silver embossed effect? Want to now how I did it?
Here is a close up of some of that embossing.... The stripes may just give it away.
It is actually made using 'Duck Tape' or 'Gorilla Tape' or indeed any unbranded strong silver tape. I first attached it to some card, then put the card and the tape through my Big Shot embossing folders - you can see I have used the zig zag stripes and also the houndstooth design above.
You can of course do this with any thick tape, and colour and any embossing design. This technique is great for a masculine look. Please comment below if you would like me to share a photo tutorial of this technique.
You may also spot a new stamp set above - part of a fun new FREE Sale-A-Bration set available at the end of January. Watch my BLOG for more information on how you can get yours for free too. Don't miss out, FOLLOW MY BLOG via email.
I hope Alex likes his card, and I wish him and his family and all of you a very Happy New Year. Alex's wife Claire had a little baby boy last year, you can see the card I made for them here. Click on the link or the photo for the full posting.
My next posting will have details of my SPECIAL class for January. A mini-album made using the Envelope Punch Board. Bookings available for Saturday 18th January.
