Birthday Boys

Good Morning and welcome back to some scheduled blog postings. Business and home life have been rather hectic for the last few weeks - so I apologise for the lack of postings.  The good news is that I am having a few days break, so that gives me the opportunity of scheduling some posts whilst I am away.

So back to the title of this post: Birthday Boys.

In July, one of my nephews, John and his son Cayleb have their birthdays a few days apart. So I set about making their cards with some of my new stamp sets as featured in the new Annual Catalogue.  For John's card I chose 'Gorgeous Grunge' a really easy to use stamp set that you will see appearing all over the place in my cards. It is a mix of background stamps which are perfect for all sort of occasions - and feature some 'splats' or 'splodges' which are also perfect for covering up your mistakes !

I stamped the stripes in 3 different colours, then added the splats (a fine one and a more obvious one) and a sentiment from the Label Love set, which has an easy to use matching punch. I stamped the envelope too just to make it a little more special.

For Cayleb's card (left) I used the cute Zoo Babies stamp set which features 8 animals, including the elephant,  rhino and monkey which I used on this card. As Cayleb lives near Chester Zoo, I made it into a zoo theme, and added these stamped and punched tickets too. They are from the set called That's The Ticket and I have to be honest and say it's a set I have barely used.... but I will be doing so more now as I love the way they are punched out in a ticket shape.
I backed the images onto some designer paper and added the 'candy dots'. These are self adhesive circles which come in all our main colours, and are so easy to use.

I hope you like these two projects, more postings to come in the new few days, so please do pop back and see me.
