NEW kit, perfect for sharing. Help prevent #foodpoverty

A fantastic kit, with 2 added bonuses

I love our card making kits anyway, but this one (Nourish and Flourish) has 2 added bonuses you won't want to miss.

  • It comes with an insulated, Stampin' Up! branded lunch bag
  • For every kit purchased £2.50 will be donated to a local charity in support of ending food poverty.

Each kit makes up to 9 cards (with envelopes) and everything you need is included. There are step by step instructions with graphics and a link to a how to video.

Yu can alaso watch the video I recorded this week, showing you the kit contents, and how I created the three cards as shown.  This would be perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike.

Here are my 3 finished cards, you can make 3 of each card:

The sentiments are included in English, French, German and Dutch. If you don't use the extra sentiments, I have 2 suggestions:
  • Gift them to someone who can make use of them
  • Make cards for any French, German or Dutch friends and family
  • Turn them over and use the back for your own stamped sentiments

The insulated canvas lunch bag is gorgeous too - of course it has some trademark Stampin' Up! graphics on it, plus the Stampin' Up! logo.

But you don't have to use it as a lunch bag. Wy not store ribbons in it? Keep spare glues and adhesives, or even a mini craft kit you might take to coffee and card or a class/crop.  It's perfect for taking your Blends pens out and about too.

What will you do with yours? All kits come packed in a cardboard box for protection. I keep these in stock currently (July 2022)

A week of Sale-a-Bration - stunning papers and stamps

Who loves FREE products?

This week I have been focusing on Sale-A-Bration products which you can earn for free in July and August 2022. There are 10 products to choose from, depending on your order value (excluding shipping).

You can see all of the items online by clicking on the graphic below.

One of these fabulous items is a set of stamps and paper called Wonderful World, which I featured in my previous blog post and LIVE video HERE. Our next example was the card made with the Postage stamp Punch - so versatile and you could easily recreate this card with other papers and other punches you may have to hand.

I used the Alphabest stamp set for the word 'LOVE' and I tried using the numbers on the punched out spare pieces as I thought it made them look more like real stamps too.  You can see these on the left hand side of the photo below.

For the post mark I used the circle of dots from Framed Occasions - see the bottom of this post for more details and to order online.

After the fun with these stunning papers and stamps, I went on to use the Hippest Hippos stamp set - a fun sweet set which has matching dies. The dies can be used to dress up the hippos - but also to add to other fun animals and characters too! These items are each available for a £45 order until end August 2022.

Here is my simple stamped hippo card, using the ballerina hippo! I used Crumb Cake pens to colour her in - as I couldn't locate my grey pens. I think she came out OK considering.

So my dies for the Hippos arrived during the week, so I had to just give it a go.... here is the resulting card on the right hand side.

I die cut the snorkel, goggles and the little life-ring from Real Red cardstock, with the sea and splashes from Orchid Oasis.

The boat was cut from Coastal Cabana, and I added the little propeller from a small piece of silver card - this was added after I recorded the video

Although you can't see from the photo, I added some sky detail with a Blending Brush and some Balmy Blue ink.

We decided the OOPS! sentiment could be used for all sorts of meanings! This is from another Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Amazing Phrasing

The other items in the die set include flowers, an umbrella, glasses, a party hat and a bath!

What other animal stamps/images have you got that you could add these items to? Otters? Penguins? Cats? Dogs? Dare I say snowmen?

You can see the videos for the three cards above, in my July-August Sale-a-Bration playlist HERE

Don't forget the FREE items are only available whilst stocks last.

An old technique revisited with a twist with Wonderful World stamps and papers

THE TECHNIQUE

The technique of adding ink to stamps with our Stampin' Write markers was one of the very first techniques I learnt over 12 years ago.  It allows you to ink up different parts of a single stamp with different colours, which is great for many stamp designs. Here are just a few ideas:

  • Floral images so you can have stalks in one colour, and mutiple flower colours
  • Text stamps can have words ommitted
  • Floral images can have more colour detail - darker centres for example
  • Rainbow effect images

Here are 2 cards made at coffee and card last week, the one on the left being the colour inspiration for my card today.

THE TWIST

The twist is that I used our Stamparatus stamp positioning tool with the image so that we could add the colour in layers.   I used a cotton bud to remove the extra ink after inking up the flower.

You can see how I achieved that here:

The stamp set I used was Wonderful World, which has these stunning matching papers - you can see them in the video.  I used Rich Razzleberry ink for the iris, and a mix of Mossy Meadow and Old Olive marker pens for the stalks/leaves.  This stamp set is simply stunning.

These stamps and papers can be earned for FREE with an order over £90 placed between 1st July and 31st August (whilst stocks last). Orders which include Class in a Box (£20) are not included, unless the total product value exceeds £90.  If in doubt, just ask !

I will be featuring Sale-a-Bration items ALL WEEK THIS WEEK, so make sure you check back and either catch us live on Facebook or on You Tube. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my You Tube channel if you would like to be kept up to date with new videos.

Pattern making with Organic Beauty Dies - great ideas for male cards.

I had a great week making some very different cards - they all featured the lattice/trellis design from the Organic Beauty dies from Stampin' Up!  This was the first time I had used this die and I am SO pleased with the results.

So much so, that I featured the dies all week and they became my die-set of the week. You will have seen the one I created on Monday, but I am delighted to share the remainder with you.

For the ombre card above, I used 9 colours of blue from the Stampin' Up! range: starting with the lightest and working from the top to the bottom:

Pool Party, Balmy Blue,  Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Orchid Oasis, Pacific Point, Starry Sky and finally Night of Navy.

I finished this card off with the Basic White die cut SENDING from Sending Smiles and the matching stamp 'A card to say hello' stamped in Starry Sky ink onto White card. This ombre idea was from one of our team members, Scott Hawkins - thanks Scott!

I wanted our next card to be feminine, so I changed out the colour to Blushing Bride, and used some of the Awash in Beauty papers with the trellis die, picking out 4 for the cluster of diamonds, which I added using the die as a guide to line them up.  The card looked slightly bare, so we added the dots from Forever Fern to fill it in - thanks to Katherine for her suggestion.

Our final card (shown above) was made using the die as a stencil, and adding background ink wth a Blending Brush. This card was made using Petal Pink and Calypso Coral colours for the rose.

Something I love about our live videos is that you can get involved, and it's great to have different ideas and suggestions - so why not join us LIVE next time?  You can find us on Facebook (check out the icons on the right) At the end of my You Tube videos you can use the SUBSCRIBE button, and don't forget to tick the notification bell, so you are notified when I add a video.

Fun card - it's like painting by numbers! With the Organic Beauty dies

I had such great fun with this single die from the Organic Beauty dies today.  Although the majority of the dies in this set are floral and foliage based, this card is far from it! Not a flower in sight. I have used the trellis shape below for something completely different.

What do you think?

I think this makes a great mans card, and you could easily change out the colours to suit the theme.  Here's how I did it:

For my card I used the following colours of card:

  • Basic Black
  • Parakeet Party
  • Orchid Oasis
  • Tahitian Tide

I cut each of the card stock colours with the trellis die, stuck down the black trellis 'grid' onto some Basic Black card, and then used colours of card in lines. This was by far the easiest way - I popped a little Tombow glue in each panel (line by line) and then popped the coloured piece in.

I have lots more ideas with these dies, so you can see more of them this week. Check out my Facebook lives, or watch via You Tube: watch the full playlist here.

You can see the dies below. Of course, the best way to buy these are as a bundle with the stamps - saving yourself 10% off both the stamps and the dies; but you can buy the dies on their own too - they also match the papers ! You can see the dies below and click on any of the icons underneath to see in more detail and add to your shopping basket.

Watch out for more ideas all week! Pop back here, or better still, hop over to my You Tube channel, hit SUBSCRIBE and the click on the bell notification for reminders when I upload more videos.
